The main betting interface is where you will spend most of your time looking up racecards and placing wagers. With as many tracks and bets on offer, it was vital that Racebets get the interface right – and they did. It is significantly easier to browse various tracks, place bets and find the necessary information at Racebets.com than any other site I’ve visited to date.

When you first log in, the main wagering area is organized into two main sections. Occupying the center of the page is a list of upcoming races, the day’s highlights, lists of the most-backed runners and even a little section that shows the horses picked by the “tips of the day” column.

On the left side of the page is a column of racetracks hosting races today. This column is organized by track name and country. Fixed odds races are designated with an “F” while starting-price-only races are not. Racebets also has an extensive ante-post selection that you can access by clicking on the “ante post” tab near the top of the list of tracks on the left side of the website.

A little comparison shopping showed that the odds at Racebets.com are competitive with other major bookmakers. In fact, the odds are often better here than anywhere else. That would make sense considering this is by far the largest horse and greyhound focused betting site in the world. Also, the best odds guarantee goes a long way in ensuring you get the most for your money when you do make fixed odd plays.

Types of Bets Accepted

Racebets.com review and detailed analysis If you click

As expected, Racebets.com offers all the standard variety of wagers plus a few others that you won’t often find elsewhere. Available bet-types include the usual win, place, show, quinella, exacta, trifecta and superfecta varieties in addition to Ita (bet on a horse to take 2nd place) and trita (bet on a horse to take 3rd) variants. Accumulators and multiples are accepted as well.

Most races are offered as starting price and fixed odds wagers in which you know the exact odds before you place your bet. Certain races in the USA and Australia are offered as tote bets, which means your money is pooled at the track and exact payouts are determined based on the amount of money backing each horse.

In addition to traditional types of bets, Racebets.com also offers others that resemble traditional sports betting more than horse racing. For example, they offer head-to-head wagers in which you are presented with 2 horses expected to run in the same race. You pick the horse that will perform the best between those two horses only – just like you would in a bet on a football match between two teams. You will also find prop bets in which you can bet on the jockey of the year, wagers on how the favourites of each race in a single meet will perform as a group and bets on the winning distance.

There is one concerning payout rule that should be noted here. The Racebet.com terms and conditions page states that there are maximum limits to how much money Racebets.com can lose in a single race. If the total net payouts exceed the following limits, Racebets reserves the right to reduce payouts to limit its exposure.

  • Category 1 Races: €50,000
  • Category 2 Races: €25,000
  • Category 3 Races: €15,000
  • Category 4 Races: €10,000
  • Greyhound Races: €15,000

Live Streaming Race Video

If you place a premium on watching your horses race in real time, Racebets.com is worth a look. They offer hundreds of high quality streams on races every day to such an extent that you can even watch the Dubai World Cup in HD (something that would normally require a special TV channel).

If you click on the “streams” tab at the top of the website, a dropdown player will provide a list of streams that are live right now. Just choose the one you want and you can watch it immediately for free. For some reason, races streamed in the USA and Canada require a few more clicks for live streaming access. If you want to watch a North American race live, you need to visit that track’s racecard at Racebets.com and then select the live link near the top of the racecard.

Customer Service

Racebets.com offers real time support via live chat and phone plus e-mail support. I sent a test question at 4:04 PM London time and received a detailed and obviously personal response exactly 13 minutes later. This is one of the better response times I have ever had from a betting site (or from any business for that matter).
