Before I started with this site, I was thinking for almost one year how to help bettors. And I mean, how to help them for real, so they can become better.
I am in this business since 1998 and I worked as a betting advisor for some time. In other words me and some other betting experts from different sports were selling picks.
And I realised, that in most cases bettors can not make the same profit than us. Not only when they followed me, but also when they followed my friends, that were sharing picks. And believe me, there were couple of good handicappers back then.
There was one very good tennis tipster back then and he was constantly reaching yield of around 9-10% and we were working for same betting service and one of our subscribers sent me an email.
He said something like this: “No matter how quick I am with my bets and no matter if I bet on different bookmakers, I can not get the same odds on your baseball picks and I can not get same odds on his tennis picks. If you have very good season, I make just small profit if I take into account subscription. But if you have an average season, it is almost not possible to have green numbers.”
I realised that picks are like a fish. You give them fish, you feed them for one day, but at the end they still don’t know how to bet, they don’t know what is important to understand, how to set the right strategy and many other important things.
It is only a matter of time, when they will start losing.
So, I was thinking for some time, how to help bettors. And then I decided to teach them the other “70%” that is missing.
There are three types of betting sites, that share their information:
Handicappers – handicappers usually sell their picks. This is the biggest group on the internet, but this makes sense, because most people are just looking for picks. In general, they usually promote their short term winning records (like: we are on a red hot run in last 50 games with the record of 43-17). Some of them track their records trough some monitoring sites, but we all know, that we can always close accounts there and betting with imaginary units is not the same. And I didn’t even include bookmakers restrictions, the psychology of unlimited bankrolls. However, they are selling or sharing fish. They are giving 30%, but in most cases big part is still missing. Bettors, players or punters if you like, they will not learn anything at the end.
Games research / statistics sites – those sites will usually charge monthly subscriptions and you will get their statistics, sometimes their winning percentages or some projections. This is much better, because with quality game research you can make better bets, but at the end of the day, they will never tell you how they do this and they will also not focus how to bet properly, how to set strategy, money management, etc…
“Betting theory authors” – This is the third group of smart people, who write articles, books about sports betting with all kind of charts, research and betting theory. In most cases they have very good general information about sports betting, but we never saw their betting results and they will not help you in any way how to bet.
